So as I’m sure many of you with a Facebook, Twitter, or active interest in the news have heard, Bruce Jenner (somehow related to the Kardashian’s, but I’m really not sure how — dad I think?) is now a girl.
Wow. Oh my gosh. This has TOTALLY never happened before…
Except, it has. Many times. And it’s dumb that the world is freaking out about it. Why? Because it honestly doesn’t affect you personally or your daily life.
If people would have originally kept to themselves, silenced their own opinions on other people’s lives, and worried only about their own friends and family, then this wouldn’t be an issue to begin with. I think too many people get wrapped up in the drama and background of other peoples’ lives and think that their opinion is somehow valued or warranted.
News flash — it’s not.
People should be able to do whatever they’d like with their own lives. As shocking as this might sound, different people believe in different things and live lives that are different than yours. So if people so badly want the freedom to express themselves in their own way, then why are we holding others back just because they express themselves a little bit differently than we do?
Whether somebody wants to be a boy or a girl really doesn’t affect me. Whether they believe in God or the devil doesn’t either. Whether they’re gay or straight or all of the above also doesn’t matter to me. What matters is that people are comfortable enough to be able to express themselves in whatever way they see fit. If that means that Bruce Jenner wants to be a girl, then hey, you do you. I really don’t have an opinion on many of these things because I don’t know what it’s like to be in that type of situation. And my guess is, neither do you. So just keep negative, critical opinions to yourself and just do you. Worry about yourselves, focus on yourselves, and always do whatever makes you happy. Don’t stress about what other people think about you — they’re going to talk no matter what.
As long as you’re happy, though, I bet you won’t even end up hearing them.
