Time to Celebrate 2 Years!

About 8,000 views. Over 2,000 followers on social media. 81 email sign-ups. 78 posts. 9 categories. 2 years. 1 blog.

Bri Car started out 2 years ago as an outlet for me to post whatever I was thinking, whenever I was thinking it. Over the years, it has grown into a way to share my ideas, a way to learn about WordPress, and a way to reach people in a way I never thought I could.

When I started this blog, I never thought many people would read it. I didn’t realize that when I wrote about my life or my thoughts or my feelings, other people would not only be able to empathize, but would end up thanking me for putting into words what they couldn’t. One of the most flattering and confidence-boosting feelings in my life is when people tell me that they love to read my blog or that a certain post was exactly what they needed to hear.

Originally, I was going to use this blog as a way to complain about my life and my problems in a format other than exhausting my friends’ patience. What I found, though, was that every time I went to write something bad/complain, I would end up deleting the piece and turning it around to be a positive – as in yes, this awful thing happened or this person hurt me, but I also learned this, this, and this, so it’s going to be okay.

I’ve learned to appreciate the bad things in life because there’s always a good thing hidden inside. I’ve learned to look at the big picture of life and be grateful for the things I’m lucky enough to have. I’ve learned that WordPress is a great tool to have in my career tool-belt and that the more I know about it, the more potential employers are impressed. But most of all, I’ve learned that I have friends, family, and support in places I didn’t even know I could.

So, to all of you who read my posts religiously or who click on a single, random post when you’re bored, thank you. To my friends and family who share my thoughts within their own worlds, thank you. And to the people, places, and experiences that have inspired me over the past 2 years, I thank you the most. Cheers to 2 years, and here’s to many, many more!
