I grew up listening to music all the time. When I did homework, my mom would put on classical music for background noise. When my mother would clean, she’d put on fun, pop music. Around the holidays, Christmas music was on repeat.
But, one of my favorite times we listened to music is when my mom (or grandmas) would cook or get ready for a big party. They’d put on classic jazz (or really, pop from that time) music from Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin and all the greats – definitely that Italian heritage coming through! So, for this week, I decided to put some of my favorites into a list:
The Way You Look Tonight – Frank Sinatra
You Make Me Feel so Young – Frank Sinatra (again… I could go on for days, his music is perfection) ((also, this song makes me think of Elf every. single. time.))
Angelina – Louis Prima (I also love Jump, Jive, an’ Wail by him!)
Ain’t That a Kick in the Head – Dean Martin
Volare – Dean Martin (another artist I could go on and on about… Just awesome)
Que Sera Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be) – Doris Day
Papa Loves Mambo – Perry Como
I have an entire Google Play playlist of “Dinner Music” if you’d like to check out some more songs!
