There’s a very popular quote that I’ve been told many times:
And I’ve also been told:
And while I adore these quotes, and understand the messages that come with them, I still can’t help but be frustrated by people. This isn’t a one-time situation, or a specific instance, but just people in general who will take ideas or phrases or people from others and play them off as their own.
I know that this is a part of life, and I’m convinced that people are placed in our lives solely to test our patience. As I continue to grow up and learn how to “adult”, I’m learning that patience is even more crucial now than it ever was before. I used to teach children how to dance, and even then I could keep myself better together than I feel I can now.
With due time, I know the frustrations will fade, and these people will all learn valuable lessons in originality and being your own person (and they’ll learn the hard way). Until then, I’ll just continue to vent to you all and jam out to my favorite songs – specifically, Meghan Trainor’s “Me Too”. Because yeah, if I was you, I’d wanna be me too. 😉
